Archaeology of Open Spaces Exhibition

Archaeology of Open Spaces Exhibition

posted by CBaker on Monday, August 12th, 2013
As part of National Heritage Week, Fingal’s Field Monument Advisor has put together an exhibition drawing attention to some of Fingal’s often overlooked heritage:
Archaeology is everywhere. Over the past decade the need for both development and preservation has resulted in many archaeological sites and monuments being incorporated into the open spaces of housing estates. While the context of the monuments has changes, their significance has not. It is hoped that by highlighting the presence of these sites, new communities can be introduced to Fingal’s heritage, which is literally, on their doorsteps

Launching: Saturday 17th August 2pm, Balrothery Heritage Centre
Fingal’s Field Monument Advisor, Christine Baker, will be on hand to answer questions, and to distribute leaflets and books relating to the exhibition

Venue: Balrothery Heritage Centre, Balrothery
Time: 17th-23rd August, 2-4pm daily
FREE. All Welcome
